What is the True Spring color palette?

True Spring (often called Warm Spring) is the warmest of the springs. Its colors are clearly golden-based, fairly clear, and medium in depth: think marigold, coral, tangerine, leaf green and warm turquoise.

This palette suits people whose overall look reads warm and lively. When colors are too cool or too muted they can make the face look grey or tired, and golden, clear colors bring back the glow. Any skin depth can lean True Spring. It is about warmth and freshness, not lightness alone.

Typical True Spring characteristics

Undertone
Clearly warm: golden, peachy, sometimes with freckles or a golden sheen.

Colors to approach carefully

Not forbidden, just harder to wear close to the face. Away from the face (trousers, bags, shoes) almost anything goes.

  • Black #111111
Cold and heavy; it competes with golden warmth.
  • Icy Pink #F4D9E4
Icy, blue-based pastels can look chalky.
  • Cool Grey #8A8F98
Blue-grey neutrals mute a warm glow.
  • Burgundy #6D1A36
Too deep and cool for a sunny palette.
  • Fuchsia #C71585
Strongly cool pink can make warm skin look sallow by contrast.

Is Warm Spring the same as True Spring?

Yes. “True Spring” and “Warm Spring” are two names for the same season. “True” means it’s the purest version of the Spring family; “Warm” names its dominant quality, which is warmth. Different color systems simply label it differently, so a Warm Spring palette and a True Spring palette describe the same golden, clear colors.

You may also see “Spring Warm”. That’s the same idea again, written family-first.

True Spring vs neighboring seasons

Seasons are neighborhoods, not boxes. If you’re unsure, these are the palettes True Spring is most often confused with.

True Spring vs Light Spring

True SpringLight Spring

Light Spring is the paler, more delicate sister. Both are warm, but True Spring can carry saturated marigold and poppy, while Light Spring looks best in buttercream, peach and light aqua. If strong warm colors feel loud on you, try the lighter version.

True Spring vs Bright Spring

True SpringBright Spring

Bright Spring adds clarity and a touch of coolness: watermelon, bright blue and violet sit next to coral and lemon. True Spring is warmer and a little less electric. If golden warmth is what makes your face come alive, stay with True Spring; if you need extra punch and contrast, compare Bright Spring.

True Spring vs True Autumn

True SpringTrue Autumn

True Autumn is equally warm but earthier and deeper: rust, mustard and olive instead of coral, marigold and leaf green. Compare marigold with mustard. The clearer, sunnier one points to True Spring; the spicier, more muted one points to True Autumn.

How to wear the True Spring palette

  • Let one bright warm color lead (coral, marigold, grass green) and support it with camel, ivory or golden tan.
  • Warm navy is the best dark neutral; milk chocolate is a softer alternative to black.
  • Color combinations that echo a fruit bowl (coral + leaf green, tangerine + warm turquoise) feel natural on this palette.
  • Denim in medium, slightly warm washes is easier than very dark indigo or icy grey-blue.

True Spring makeup

True Spring makeup is warm and glowing: coral, peach and golden bronze. Shades that turn pink, grey or very brown in daylight usually look less fresh.

  • Foundation: golden or peach undertones. Avoid shades that turn pink or grey in daylight.
  • Blush: coral, warm peach, apricot.
  • Lips: coral, poppy red, warm tomato red, peachy nudes, golden gloss.
  • Eyes: bronze, copper, golden brown, warm khaki; brown liner, or teal for a playful accent.

True Spring hair color

Golden, copper and strawberry tones sit right in the True Spring palette. Ashy shades tend to cool the face down.

  • Golden blonde, copper, strawberry, golden brown and auburn with gold lift are all on-palette.
  • Ash blonde, platinum and blue-black tones usually cool the face down too much.
  • Warm balayage or golden highlights can add sunshine around the face.

Jewelry, metals & accessories

Yellow gold is the classic True Spring metal, with brass and warm bronze as easy alternatives. Polished finishes echo the palette’s clarity.

  • Metals: yellow gold, brass, warm bronze.
  • Prints: cheerful florals, medium-scale geometric prints, warm tropical motifs.
  • Glasses: golden tortoiseshell, honey, warm amber or coral-tinted frames.

How to check if you’re a True Spring

The simplest check is a side-by-side comparison in daylight: hold two colors under your face and see which one makes your skin look smoother and more even, and which one emphasizes shadows or redness. Compare Marigold against Mustard from True Autumn. If the clearer, sunnier marigold brightens you more, you lean True Spring.
